Evolution of Artificial Intelligence - A Supplement To Beat Human

Artificial Intelligence is taking a root in our daily life. It is an intelligence which is embedded into the system artificially in such a way that it can act and think like a human. Due to its most reliable feature of reducing human efforts, the technology is playing a vital role in our day-to-day living. With the help of this technology, machine understands commands, identify pictures, drive cars, play games and much more, and even better than a human does. The day is not far when you see them walking along with us.

AI (Artificial Intelligence) has earned a dubious strength over the past few years. According to Gartner report, “By 2020, 85% of customer interactions will be managed without a human”. The contemporary intelligent systems can not only manage a large amount of data but also simplify complicated data quickly. But the problem with the present system is- they are not the sentient machines. AI developers are trying to fix this feature in the future. In the coming dawns, AI systems may outshine the performance in solving different human-relevant tasks.

There emerged different types of AI that can help other artificial intelligence systems to work quick-witted in the tech-savvy world. So, let us understand what are the various types of artificial intelligence.

Reactive Machines AI:

This is the most basic type of AI systems, which is purely reactive. But it lags in forming memories on the past experiences to inform current decisions. Deep Blue, IBM’s chess-playing supercomputer is the best example of this type of machine. It is the first machine to win a chess game against the regnant world champion, Gary Kasparov. Deep Blue machine can identify pieces on a chessboard and predict upcoming steps on it’s and its opponent’s next move of the pieces. Also, it can choose an optimized move from the possibilities. But there not left any concept of the wider world. This type of artificial intelligence involves the machine seeing the world by naked eyes and simply act on what it sees.

Limited Memory AI:

Limited memory AI type is further up on AI revolutionary ladder. This type considers pieces of past information. The self-driving car is the best example of this type. They can detect the movement and speed of vehicles. The fixed data viz, lane marks, traffic lights, and curves in the road, are pre-programmed to the self-driving cars. These self-driving cars are also referred as autonomous cars. This embedded software helps these cars to avoid accidents. They exhibit enough memory to make out appropriate decisions and execute prompt actions.

Theory of Mind AI:

Theory of mind is considered as the most advanced AI type. In psychology, the term ‘theory of mind’ is defined as- understanding the people, creatures and those objects, that have various thoughts and sentiments, which can result in affecting their self-behavior. The research shows that this type of AI is not yet developed completely. Further, a report said that- they will commence advancements by developing robots, that can predict eye and face gestures.

Self-aware AI:

Self- aware AI is an addition to the Theory of mind AI type. This type of AI is also not yet developed, but when it will evolve, it can form representation about themselves. It is an extended version of Theory of mind intelligence type. In this type of intelligence, devices can receive cues like emotions from humans, and display self-driven reactions and seeks attention. This type can be known as the future genesis of machines.

Though some of these AI technologies are being in use today, we are much far from creating machines that will be self-aware AI. Instead, you should focus on understanding memory and ability to decide on past experiences. This will help you to understand human intelligence and its behavior, in order to build tomorrow’s artificial immune systems.
